We’re only doing short agreements moving forward
I’m tired of hearing the phrase, “it’s always been done this way.”
We’re going to make changes this year, and we’re starting with our work agreements.
Our work agreements are short compared to the standard. The legal disclosures in the agreements are under two pages, and the total length is around nine pages. But when we ask clients to sign our agreement, they send their novel of a statement of work over (60–80 pages!). There is no legitimate reason for the agreement to be this long, but “it’s always been done this way.”
We’re making a change going forward. Our agreements are our agreements, and this is how we work. But for those who do want a thicker document, we’ll provide a 48-point font version that is 77 pages.
